Kathmandu – Mr. Ram Bahadur Manandhar, Executive Director, Nepal Rastra Bank, has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. through its 220th board meeting, corresponding to which oath from the Deputy Governor Dr. Neelam Dhungana Timsina of Nepal Rastra Bank has been taken on 24th September, 2023. He has taken over from Mr. Dayaram Sharma Pangeni, Executive Director at NRB. Mr. Manandhar had also been the Chairman of the Board in the past since March 2021 till February 2023.
NCHL board includes representation from NRB, commercial banks, development banks and finance companies. NCHL is a public limited company promoted by Nepal Rastra Bank and majority of the banks & financial institutions for establishing multiple national payment systems in Nepal. It has been operating NCHL-ECC, NCHL-IPS, connectIPS, CORPORATEPAY, connectRTGS, National Payments Interface (NPI) and with recent implementation of Retail Payment Switch (RPS) as part of National Payment Switch. It is currently engaged in implementing National Card Switch, NEPALPAY card as domestic card scheme and cross border payment between Nepal & India.
