Mr. Chet Prasad Uprety appointed as the Chairman of NCHL

Kathmandu – Mr. Chet Prasad Uprety, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank has been appointed as the Chairman of Nepal Clearing House Ltd. (NCHL) by the last Board of NCHL. He took the Oath as the Chairman from the Deputy Governor, Mr. Bam Bahadur Mishra on 21^st May, 2025. Prior to Mr. Uprety, Mr. Vishrut Thapa, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank was representing NRB at the Board of NCHL.

Mr. Uprety has rich experience of over 27 years at various departments of Nepal Rastra Bank. He holds MBA degree from Tribhuvan University. He is currently the Executive Director of Non-Bank Financial Institutions Supervision Department at NRB.

NCHL board includes representatives from NRB, commercial banks, development banks, finance companies and an independent director. NCHL is a public limited company promoted by NRB and majority of the banks & financial institutions, which has established multiple national payment and settlement systems in Nepal.
